Learning & Participation - Arts Award

Want to explore your creativity... and get a nationally recognised qualification?

Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it's creative, valuable and accessible and has grown significantly since being launched in 2005. Arts Award can be achieved at five levels - four accredited qualifications and an introductory award for young people aged 7+.  If you attend classes or events by SAA-uk, you may be eligable to undertaken the arts award.

Arts Award can fit around your other commitments, and you can do your Arts Award wherever arts is happening with young people, including youth clubs, arts centres, schools, colleges, theatres or community groups.

The award can be achieved at Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver or Gold levels, each of which allows you to focus on a single art form or a range of different ones.

You’ll end up with a portfolio or arts log that shows off your creativity and gives you a recognised national qualification or award to put on your CV.
You’ll need to:

  • take part in different arts activities
  • be inspired by artists and arts organisations
  • experience arts events
  • share your arts skills with others
  • put together a portfolio or log in your own choice of format

And for Silver and Gold you'll also get to:

  •     set yourself arts challenges
  •     organise your own projects
  •     research arts careers and the arts sector

SAA-uk have trained staff who can support young people in their pursuit of Arts Award qualifications.  For more information about the Arts Award visit their website www.artsaward.org.uk or if you attend classes or groups with SAA-uk and are interested in working towards this contact Maria Spadafora on 0113 2445523 or email education@saa-uk.org
