Bharatanatyam

Discover the grace, poise and rhythm of Bharatanatyam; a dance crafted with sculptured movements, facial expressions and hand gestures that express stories and emotion.

All classes are centred around dance training and are complimented by Carnatic vocal training within each session to provide a well-rounded understanding for the artform and the role of music within it. Our classes provide the perfect environment to explore this classical Indian dance form in a friendly, supportive and professional atmosphere.

Calling all little dancers! Learn the basics of Bharatanatyam in a fun 1hr class with our experienced Bharatanatyam tutor Ramya Tangirala. A perfect way for little ones to enjoy Indian culture, explore rythmn, music and dance and make new dancing friends!

Kathak

I would say for me it has become the highlight of the week somehow. The most important thing that I have gained from the class is a better perception of my body, its limits, but also its potential.

- Kathak Student, 2017.

The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word “Katha” meaning “story”. Wandering Kathakas communicated stories from the great epics and ancient mythology through dance, songs and music, similarly to early Greek theatre.

Our weekly Kathak classes offer you the chance to build your fitness and core strength while enjoying the pleasure of music and movement through fast spins and delicate movements. Pop your hair up in a bun, slip on your kurta top, leggings and ghungroos and enjoy dancing in a professional dance studio with new friends.

Kathak Beginners (All ages)       6.15pm – 7.15pm             £80

Kathak Intermediate (All ages)  7.15pm – 8.15pm             £80

Ideal for: those looking for that perfect blend of exercise and fitness, culture, music and dance.
