The Inner Vision Orchestra is the UK's only ensemble of blind and visually impaired musicians. Founded in 2012 by Indian Music Maestro Baluji Shrivastav OBE, its aim is to promote blind and visually impaired artists, and to address their absence in the British music scene.
This unique orchestra has been commissioned with an original piece which will be performed for the first time at the Leeds International Festival 2018. The production has been influenced by a wide range of styles and cultures, which include, songs from Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Nigeria; soulful melodies from Gospel and Blues traditions; sublime Indian Ragas, and Western classical compositions.
The Inner Vision Orchestra’s hour-long concert will largely be performed in absolute darkness, gifting the audience with an unforgettable experience, combining evocative sounds with immersive light and movement effects.
The concert will be performed twice during the day and the Afternoon Performance will be preceded by a workshop led by Baluji Shrivastav OBE.
2-3pm Workshop (20 places only)
4-5pm Afternoon Performance
7-8pm Evening Performance

I really enjoyed this concert. Inspiring musicians and what a great idea for a commission! It was very thought provoking and I loved the setting of the audience close to the musicians. One particular section moved me - the sitar, guitar and sax together. I also loved the piano/recorder parts. More please!
Beautiful and moving performance from inspirational musicians both artistically and in the adversity they have overcome to create such a fantastic performance.
Beautiful moving performance - would have been interesting to be in complete darkness. Thanks you!
